How To Remove Makeup To Make Your Mama Skin Glow And Feel Fresh
Let’s admit it, as a mom, we barely find the time to brush our hair, let alone clean our faces! However, regardless of how tired or busy we are at the end of the day, taking the time to remove our makeup is essential. If we don’t, we run the risk of clogging our pores, dulling our skin, causing breakouts, and not to mention staining our pillowcases. The good news is there is an easy and quick way to remove makeup! I recently discovered this makeup remover AND loved it so much that I had to write about it. So here is how to remove makeup in four simple steps to make your skin glow and feel fresh!
First, Why Should You Remove Makeup Before Bed?
You might be urged to crawl into bed after a long day, but your skin will thank you for that extra two minutes of effort.
Removing makeup before bed ensures that your pores aren’t clogged and that your skin can adequately regenerate itself while you sleep. Sleeping in your makeup can cause skin irritation, acne, and premature aging, which no one wants. Plus, your lovely pillowcase could become stained, ugh.
BUT removing your makeup doesn’t need to be this “long event.” There is a hassle-free way to remove it so you can hit the hay quickly. Use a makeup remover wipe.
Why Use A Makeup Remover Wipe?
This saves a TON of time and makes your skin feel oh-so-fresh.
Not only do they effortlessly remove all traces of makeup from your face, but they’re also incredibly convenient and easy to use. You can say goodbye to even the most stubborn waterproof makeup with just one swipe. And let’s not forget the benefits to your skin!
A makeup remover wipe helps prevent breakouts, removing all the dirt and oil accumulating on your skin throughout the day. They’re perfect for on-the-go touch-ups or nights when you don’t feel like going through a complicated skincare routine.
I use the Pacifica Beauty Glowing Makeup Removing Wipes Orange and Vanilla (it smells like Dreamsicle). It’s 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
Speaking of using these, here is how to remove your makeup in a sitch.

How To Remove Makeup In 4 Simple Steps
Follow these three simple steps to remove your makeup effectively for a refreshed and glowing look.
Step 1: Choose the right makeup wipe for your skin.
Start by choosing the right makeup wipe for your skin type. If you have dry skin, you’ll want to select a makeup wipe that is hydrating and gentle, while those with oily skin should look for a wipe that helps control excess oil production. Once you have your wipe, take it out of the packaging and unfold it.
I have sensitive dry skin and found the Pacifica Beauty Removing Wipes to be gentle without irritating. After using it, it makes my skin glow and feels refreshed.
Step 2: Remove your makeup using the makeup wipe.
Remove the makeup wipe from the package and gently wipe the cleanser over your face and neck. Be sure to focus on the areas where you applied the most makeup, such as your eyes and lips. If you wear waterproof mascara, you may need to hold the wipe over your eyes for a few seconds to allow the formula to break down before wiping it away.
Step 3: Rinse your face with water and pat it dry.
Once you’ve removed your makeup, toss the wipe in the trash. Do not flush it down the toilet! Finally, rinse your face with water and pat dry with a clean towel.
Ahh, feel refreshed already?

Step 4: Add a moisturizer.
Then, follow up with your favorite moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.
The moisturizer I currently use, and love is Roden + Fields Redefine Overnight Restorative Cream because it helps with wrinkles and feels light (not greasy). As mentioned, I have super dry skin, so this cream helps my skin stay hydrated. It’s a little pricier but worth the investment since it works well.
Makeup Removing Tip: If you’re tired, makeup wipes can quickly replace your normal face-washing routine. I’ll do this sometimes and add a moisturizer to my face. Then, off to be I go!

FAQ
What happens if you don’t remove your makeup before bed?
Not removing your makeup before bed can cause several issues, including clogged pores, breakouts, and skin irritation. Your skin goes into repair mode when you sleep, so letting it breathe freely is important. Leaving your makeup on can interrupt this process and lead to a dull, tired-looking complexion.
What’s the healthiest way to remove makeup?
Micellar water is a great alternative to makeup wipes from cosmetic experts. Known as the “universal makeup remover,” they suggest using a cotton pad of micellar water to remove the tough stuff; lipstick, eye makeup, and more.
Do makeup wipes clean your skin?
Makeup wipes are great for removing makeup, but they’re not ideal for cleaning your skin as they often leave behind residues that don’t favor your skin. If you want to protect your complexion, incorporating cleansing into your skincare routine is recommended.
What to avoid in makeup remover wipes?
When looking for makeup remover wipes, be cautious of products containing plastics and chemicals. Some wipes comprise phthalates, triclosan, parabens, and other irritating fragrances, potentially disrupting your hormones and skin.
Do you need to wash your face after using makeup wipes?
Absolutely! Think of your wipes as a stand-in for your trusty makeup remover and cotton pad—they work similarly, so it’s crucial to rinse your face after using them.
