How Twin Mom Linds Unveils The Magic To Live A Happy Mom Life
Hey there, beautiful soul!
I’m Linds, the MoMo Twin Mom, and I’m so grateful you’ve dropped by! First, let me give you a virtual high-five for being here and for being an AMAZING parent because your dedication is commendable.
Here’s the deal – my life’s been a rollercoaster of ups and downs, laughter, love, and learning moments, all thanks to my incredible family.
I’ve got my love Dave by my side, our big-hearted older boy Cody, and our adorable twins, Lua, and Lily Mae – all three of my kiddos who bring pure joy to every day.
We can’t forget King, our big ol’ Rottie who’s convinced he’s a tiny lapdog. Sitting on your lap might be a challenge (hello, 125 pounds!), but gosh, he’s cute as heck doing it.
Now, here’s where things get wild.
Our Twinkies, Lua, and Lily Mae are Mono Mono Twins. Let me tell you, their grand entrance into the world was a total game-changer – no kidding!
Just imagine, 18 weeks into my pregnancy, the ultrasound tech drops the bombshell – “Hey, you know you’re having twins, right?” Surprise, SURPRISE! Dave and I were floored! We thought it was just one little princess, but life had a BIG twist for us.
Now, these twins aren’t your everyday twins!
They’re Monoamniotic-Monochorionic (MoMo or Mono Mono) Twins, sharing one placenta and one amniotic sac. It’s like they’re throwing a party in one room, but it comes with some risks, like cord entanglement and Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome.
So there we were, in this rare, high-risk pregnancy rollercoaster. Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio gets maybe one or two Mono Mono pregnancies yearly – we’re talking about the jackpot of rare occurrences!
But hey, we’re in this together, right?
We embraced the journey, starting 24 weeks in, with round-the-clock monitoring to keep our girls safe and sound.
Our days were filled with twin-heart music and the excitement of when parenthood to our twins was about to begin!
Then, the big day arrived – June 23, 2022.
It was like a movie scene when Lua’s heart rate dropped and did not come back up. Emergency mode ON! I was rushed to the OR for a c-section, and guess what? In just 7 minutes, Lua and Lily Mae made their dazzling debut at 27 weeks. It was intense, but we were oh-so-grateful because both came out crying and pink-cheeked, and we couldn’t be happier!
But hold on; our adventure didn’t stop there.
The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) became our new hangout as our tiny warriors fought battles like true champs.
Almost five months later, they triumphed, and we brought our precious girls home, right in time for some holiday cheer.
Hence, the Mono Mono Twins website logo is a “Butterfly” in memory of their fight in the NICU at Nationwide Children’s Hospital who we are forever indebted.
So, here we are, Dave and I, navigating the twinhood journey like pros (well, almost!). We’re on a mission to share our experiences and help fellow parents ROCK the twin life and everything that comes with it. High-five for surviving high-risk pregnancy and acing the parenthood game!
